Class Descriptions

Below are the descriptions for the classes offered within the Group Exercise Pass.  Click here to view the schedule.

20/20/20
A perfect start to your weekend, this class combines three different types of cardio. You will meet on the MAC to set up your indoor cycle bike and then head to the treadmills on the 2nd floor fitness to start with 20 minutes on the treadmill, followed by 20 minutes on the indoor cycle bike and then hit the shallow water pool for the last 20 minutes of pool training. This class is for beginners through advanced exercisers. Group class limit: 12.

Advanced Step
Teaches a creative, new approach to common step techniques. Group size limit:25.
 
Beginner Yoga
An introductory class that flows at a perfect pace for those just beginning to practice yoga. Strengthen the mind/body connection by linking breath with a series of dynamic postures that will improve your flexibility and strength. Class limit - 25

Body Sculpt (drop-in recreation class)
Increase lean muscle tissue and metabolism. Offers a non-aerobic workout by incorporating a variety of resistance equipment. Group size limit: 25.

Cardio Combo (drop-in recreation class)
This class uses creative choreography to get your heart pumping and offers a total body workout. Fun for all fitness levels. Group size limit: 25.

Cardio Core
This class combines various forms of cardiovascular exercise including dance, kickboxing, and plyometrics with core conditioning. Leaving you sweating and feeling strong to the core. The perfect start to any day! Group class limit: 25.

Cardio Jump Rope
Learn how to jump rope for fun and fitness. In this 30 minute class, you will learn how to jump correctly, safely and efficiently to get an amazing high-intensity cardiovascular workout. In addition to building up coordination and endurance through various jump rope exercises, you will also have the opportunity to learn fun new tricks to prevent boredom. Quality jump ropes with ball bearings provided. Class limit - 13

Cycle Option 30 or 60
A 30 or 60 minute cycling class… you choose! An instructor will lead the class through hills, sprints and climbs. You can choose to cycle for the first 30 minute portion or stay for a challenging 60 minute ride. Either way it’s a great cardio workout! Class limit – 14

Global Grooves
An innovative, expressive, heart-pumping, and easy-to-follow workout, blending "world styles" of dance with fitness. Styles of choreography and music include African/Hip Hop, Indian/Bollywood, Modern/Jazz and Latin/Salsa. This fun class is great for all fitness and dance levels! Group size limit: 25.

Gutts, Butts and Thighs
Use the full 45-minutes to target a specific area…lower body. Using your own body weight and other equipment, tone and trim your lower body. You will be able to feel those muscles by the end of this workout. Class limit - 25

Interval Shallow Water
A challenging water workout that improves your cardiovascular fitness and burns more calories. This class is designed with short bursts of high intensity activity combined with intervals of lighter intensity activity. Class limit - 15

Kickboxing
A cardiovascular workout that uses punches, kicks, and blocks to increase your heart rate. This fun, energizing class offers various levels to meet everyone's needs. Work on endurance, strength and coordination while burning tons of calories and learning the basics of boxing. Class limit – 25.

Pilates
This class teaches traditional pilates workouts that can be done anywhere. No equipment needed. Group size limit: 25.

Pilates with Props
A fresh spin on basic Pilates matwork, using all sorts of props - rings, bands, balls, rollers, weights - to name a few. Each class will be different, introducing new props and choreography for a fun, exciting, and effective workout. Class limit - 25

Pool Tools
A fun and challenging class using hand buoys, noodles, paddles and ankle cuffs. This is fun and innovative class designed to for new or experienced exercisers! Think outside the box as you noodle surf to strengthen your core, mogul sky with ankle cuffs and do aqua push-ups to strengthen arms and upper back! Class limit - 15.

Power Cycle
Start your day with an indoor ride that gets your heart pumping. An intense workout for all fitness levels. Group size limit: 14.

Power Yoga
Yoga for all fitness levels. Learn and perfect poses to build flexibility, strength, balance, breath awareness and focus. Group size limit: 25.

Restorative Yoga
Designed to increase flexibility and manage injuries, this healing practice will submerge your body and mind in the art of moving meditation.  Drawing elements from Yin, Hatha, Vinyasa, and Tai Chi, you will develop a well-rounded practice and further your understanding of the mind/body connection. All Fitness Levels Welcome! Group size limit: 25.

Rock Hard Abs
Add a variety of exercises and intensity to your usual ab routine- and see results! Thirty minutes of this workout are dedicated soley to toning and strengthening the abdominal core muscles. Group size limit:25.

Shallow Water Power Hour
Provides a high-intensity workout using water resistance without the impact of traditional land classes. Group size limit: 15.

Stability/Core Conditioning
Get on the ball and get moving! This class challenges core and stability muscles through the use of a BOSU, Stability Ball, & Medicine balls. Offers a challenging and invigorating workout - but you’ll have a blast! All abilities welcome. Class limit- 12.

Step
A mixture of high and low-impact on a step with an adjustable platform. With simple choreographed routines, you will challenge your cardiovascular system and your legs! Class limit - 25

Strictly Strength
This class provides a full-body sculpting and toning workout. Workouts focus on all major muscle groups. Teaching focuses on proper form and technique. Group size limit: 25.

TurboKick
A combination of intense kickboxing moves, as well as, dance moves all perfectly choreographed to high energy and motivating music. It’s the ultimate cardiovascular challenge that’s a unique blend of intense intervals strength/endurance training, and a relaxing cool-down. All fitness levels welcome. Group size limit: 25.

Vinyasa Yoga
Teaches breathing techniques and movement through a series of poses designed to improve strength and flexibility. All fitness levels welcome. Group size limit: 25.

ZUMBA!
Zumba! is a fusion of Latin and International music/dance themes that create a dynamic and exciting, yet easy to follow class! It combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations making for a "feel happy" workout that is great for both the body and mind! Class limit: 25.
