Congrats to Kevin Bailey, Collegiate Interscholastic Award Winner
MIT Recreation would like to take a moment to say Congrats to one of our own who has always gone above and beyond on the job – and who has been recently honored for it! Kevin Bailey, our Assistant Aquatics Director, was awarded the Collegiate Interscholastic Award on May 1st, an award that recognizes members in Higher Education who consistently go above – specifically in support of Massachusetts High School Swimming and Diving.
The award is presented by the Eastern Massachusetts Interscholastic Swim Coaches Academy, which is comprised of current and retired High School Swimming and Diving Coaches. This group is charged with maintaining historical events as it relates to Massachusetts High School Swimming and Diving, and each year they determine a worthy candidate who has gone above and beyond in supporting the advancement Swimming and Diving. In addition, they elect inductees into the Massachusetts Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame.
“We are truly proud of the award that Kevin has received. Although Kevin would say he is just doing his job, the help that he provides the MIAA, from planning to the running of the six individual competitions each year exceeds expectations. I continually get calls, after each meet, from the Meet Directors praising Kevin’s leadership and ability to think on his feet.” Said Ben McElhiney, Director of Aquatics. He speaks for all of us at MIT Recreation, who value Kevin as an essential part of our team and who we are happy to congratulate on this well-deserved honor.
