Our temporary passes offer flexible options for drop-ins, rainy day workouts, or training while on vacation. Before purchasing, please check our Hours of Operation, Pool Schedule, and Open Recreation Schedule to confirm availability, as passes are nonrefundable.

Need a towel? Monthly towel service is included in the 3-in-1 Bundle, but not available to other pass holders. Discounted shower towels are available to purchase for $2.95.

Kids under 18 must be with a parent or guardian. Little ones under 2 get in free with a paying adult. For important information about youth access, check out our Policies page before purchasing.

Temporary Pass Instructions

PLEASE CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT PRIOR TO ARRIVING!

Your pass starts the moment you buy it! Simply follow these 3 easy steps:

• 1. Create an online login with MIT Recreation. We recommend that you create your account on a computer (if you already have an active MIT Recreation account, start at step 2)
• 2. Purchase your pass on the day of your visit by selecting your desired option in the temporary pass table on the right sidebar. Be sure to check our schedules in advance, as passes are nonrefundable
• 3. Show a photo ID, scan the barcode on your MIT Recreation app at the entrance desk, and you’re all set to enjoy the facilities!

Frequently Asked Questions

• Can passes be purchased in advance?
  • Passes cannot be purchased in advance, so please only buy a pass if you are certain you will be visiting on the same-day.
• Can I purchase a pass at the facility?
  • While you can purchase a pass in person, we recommend using our website or app for a quicker check-in. If you’re using the app, be sure to log out first, as you can’t make a pass purchase while logged in.
• Do you offer packages?
  • Multiple same-day guest passes cannot be purchased at once. If you plan to visit on consecutive days, please purchase passes separately or consider a weekly or monthly pass.
• Can I buy a pass for a family member or friend?
  • Temporary pass users must have their own account and purchase their pass individually. Please note that passes are nonrefundable and nontransferable once purchased, ensuring a smooth check-in experience for all guests and members.
• Can I make a court reservation?
  • After purchasing a day pass, nonmembers can book a squash or outdoor tennis court online. Log in to your account and click “View Availability” before purchasing. For other courts, check the Open Recreation Schedule, but note that they are first-come, first-served and availability is not guaranteed.
• Does a temporary pass grant access to the Johnson Ice Rink?
  • Yes, temporary passes provide access to the ice rink. General skate times are listed on the Ice Rink Schedule, and skate rentals can be purchased at Member Services.
